Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome also known as AIDS is a serious infectious disease that attacks the defense mechanism. Caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), AIDS progressively weakens the ability of the body to combat infections and diseases. Spread of HIV primarily occurs through contact with infected blood, semen, or vaginal fluid
